Huntingdon Valley Field Trip

Beautiful and interesting sites in our Huntingdon Valley neighborhood were explored on our September 9th field trip.  We especially enjoyed a visit to 530 Red Lion Road, where we viewed and photographed Vince Pastore’s unusual collection of Americana—everything from antique dolls to antique gas pumps.  The group photograph shows HVCC members as they set out on their explorations.  The second photograph shows member Sid Snyder chatting with Rachel Brandt, local historian and our guide, and Vince Pastore, who hosted our visit to his collection.

Scavenger Hunt

We gathered at the parking lot, thick mist around and spoke about the 70%  probability of rain. Engulfed by fog and moisture in the air, on we trudged, instructions in hand. The mist was enchanting along the way to New Hope. The first photo location there was lots of road construction, and workers, too. (Perfect!)  The stop at the train station was exciting.  Conductors, smoke, coal, and a train moving offered a myriad of shots. (so happy I brought my mini camera).  When I was at the 11th location---- OOPS - camera battery gone.  So much for the remaining five.   After a delicious lunch on the Delaware, (the sun came out), we took a short walk and were ready to head home, probably for a nap.

Holiday Party

Picture Perfect!  That's how our Holiday Party turned out, with a BIG THANK YOU to member Tom Brady, who set up his backdrop and lights for anyone to use.  A little extra team fun was a photography facts question game put together by Edie and Sherry.  There was conversation, food and fun for everyone.

Field Trip to
Perelman Building

Peering down stairwells, looking up at blue sky and clouds through a rooftop grid, lying on the floor for  another angle on Japanese costume designs, getting close to statues for macro shots of  the textures—just a few of the ways that HVCC members captured images of the  Perelman Building on our November 19th field trip.  The outing also provided an opportunity for some of our more experienced photographers to give tips to newer members.

Scavenger Hunt -
Civil War Reenactment

The Civil War Reenactment at Neshaminy State Park on April 27 provided great photo opportunities for club members.  Here is Edie's shot of a “Campfire Girl”.
